HOSTAS We now have one of the largest retail collection of Hostas in the Maritimes with over 300 different selections. (Some of our customers have more in their gardens!) Hostas are considered shade-tolerant plants, but most do not thrive if grown in deep shade. Hostas grow best in as exposure with morning and afternoon shade. Some cultivars will tolerate some afternoon sun, although plants grown in full afternoon sun (especially variegated plants) will show signs of marginal burning on leaves in the summer months. Cracker Crumbs A fast growing mini hosta with wavy chartreuse-yellow leaves edged with a narrow green margin. Tiny lavender flowers top the 12 inch clump in the summer. Hanky Panky A natural sport of 'Striptease' this hosta emerges with dark green leaves edged with pale lime. An ivory halo separates the center from the margin. As the summer progresses the center brightens to a creamy yellow and the margin become near white.   Orange Marmalade A vigorous hosta that emerges with a blue green margin and a bright orangey gold center.
